Illuminate a Wider Aquarium

The extended fixture distributes light across tanks up to 137 cm (54 inches) wide, helping reduce dim areas at the ends of the aquarium.

Reveal More Colour and Detail

Its combination of white, red, green, and blue LEDs enhances green foliage, red plants, fish markings, wood, and stone.

Check Your Settings Easily

The LCD screen makes it easy to view the current time, operating mode, brightness, and scheduled lighting times.

Slim, Durable Construction

A low-profile aluminum housing provides efficient heat dissipation without adding a bulky fixture above the aquarium.

Model: HG999-42W

Power: 42W

Light Type: Full-spectrum WRGB LED

LED Quantity: 215 LEDs

Light Output: Approximately 2,160 lumens

Colour Temperature: Approximately 6500 K

Colour Rendering: Approximately CRI 89

Construction: 1.2 mm aluminum housing with extendable metal brackets

Water Protection: IP68-rated sealed fixture; the controller, adapter, and electrical connections must remain dry

Fixture Size: Approximately 117.3 × 11 × 1.3 cm (46.2 × 4.3 × 0.5 in)

Input: AC 100–240V, 50/60Hz

Output: DC 20V

Tank Size: Designed for aquariums measuring approximately 114–137 cm (45–54 inches) wide. Aquarium width—not gallon capacity—determines whether the brackets will fit.

Common Aquariums: Compatible by width with many standard 55-, 60-, 75-, and 90-gallon aquariums measuring approximately 122 cm (48 inches) long.

Deep Aquariums: Tank depth affects how much light reaches plants near the substrate. Tall aquariums may need higher brightness, easier plant choices, or supplementary lighting.

Plant Compatibility: Suitable for Anubias, Bucephalandra, Java fern, Cryptocoryne, mosses, Vallisneria, Amazon swords, Hygrophila, Bacopa, Ludwigia, Rotala, and many other low- to moderate-light plants.

Fish Compatibility: Suitable for freshwater community fish, livebearers, rainbowfish, gouramis, angelfish, Corydoras, peaceful cichlids, and other appropriately stocked freshwater species.

Shrimp & Snail Compatibility: Suitable for planted shrimp and snail aquariums. Increase brightness gradually so livestock and plants can adjust.

CO₂: Optional for low-tech setups. Pressurized CO₂ and balanced fertilization may improve the growth of dense carpeting plants and more demanding stem plants.

Recommended Schedule: Start with 6–8 hours per day at moderate brightness. Increase intensity or duration gradually while monitoring plant growth and algae.

Best Use: Large freshwater planted tanks, community aquariums, display tanks, and wide aquascapes.

Not Recommended For: Marine aquariums, photosynthetic corals, or dedicated reef lighting.

Package Includes:

  • 1 × hygger HG999-42W LED aquarium light with wired LCD controller
  • 1 × AC/DC power adapter
  • 2 × Extendable metal mounting brackets
  • 1 × User manual

Installation: Insert the brackets into both ends, adjust them evenly to the aquarium width, and centre the fixture above the tank. Position the controller and connections in a dry, accessible location.

Controller Setup: Set the local time first, then choose Day, Night, or DIY operation. Disable other active programs before switching to DIY mode to prevent schedule conflicts.

Care: Unplug the light before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth on the housing and never intentionally submerge the fixture or electrical components.

Tip: Larger aquariums do not always need maximum brightness. Begin at a moderate level and increase it only when plant response shows that more light is needed.

Control: Six-button wired LCD controller; no app or Wi-Fi required

Day Mode: Schedule full-spectrum white illumination and select brightness from 10–100%

Night Mode: Choose red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, or purple evening light

DIY Mode: Divide the day into as many as eight consecutive periods with customized timing, WRGB colour, and intensity

Automatic Transitions: Approximately 15-minute fade-in and fade-out provide gentler changes at the beginning and end of the lighting cycle

Memory Function: Saves the programmed settings following a power interruption; the local clock must be reset when power returns
